The State University of New York at Geneseo has named 41 new Edgar Fellows for the current academic year. The college's Honors Program is named after the program's founder, William Edgar, distinguished teaching professor emeritus of philosophy. Students must exhibit a high level of motivation and academic accomplishment to be admitted to the program, which entails honors courses, research opportunities and close work with honors advisers.

More than 2,200 new matriculated students began their studies at Hudson Valley Community College during the Fall 2014 term. Students are studying in more than 70 degree and certificate programs offered by the college.

At Nazareth College, Orientation for new students includes a community service component, the Orientation Day of Service.

Approximately 1,100 new freshmen, selected from 11,589 applicants, will begin their studies at SUNY Oneonta this fall. Classes start on Monday, Aug. 25. The SUNY Oneonta Class of 2018 has an average high school grade-point average of 91 and an average combined math and critical reading SAT score of 1127.

The following local residents were among the 93 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Academic Team for the spring semester, the conference announced Tuesday, July 29. Players named to the all-academic team have a minimum 3.3 GPA for the Spring 2014 semester.Summary

Hudson Valley Community College held its 60th annual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17 at the college's Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY. A total of 2,240 students earn associate degrees and certificates. Of them, 470 graduate with academic honors.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recognized more than 900 candidates for graduation during the College's 2014 Commencement celebrations. SUNY Potsdam honored students who either earned their degree or were eligible to graduate between December 2013 and December 2014.

The following students were named to the SUNY Oneonta Provost's List for the spring 2014 semester. Of the more than 5,800 undergraduates enrolled at the college, 143 qualified for the spring 2014 Provost's List by earning a perfect GPA while carrying a course load of at least 12 semester hours.

Union College is recognizing the Class of 2014 for their graduation from the College.

The College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y., today announced that 779 students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester. Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for the Dean's List.

Hofstra University congratulates the students named to the Spring 2014 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 861 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2014 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by Interim President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

SUNY Oneonta recently awarded scholarships to 283 freshmen and transfer students who will enroll at the college in the fall 2014 semester.

More than 1800 students were named to the President's List at Hudson Valley Community College for the Spring 2014 term. Students named to the President's List earned a term grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0.

More than 1200 students at Hudson Valley Community College were recently named to the college's Deans' List. Students named to the Dean's List have have a term grade point average between 3.0 to 3.49.
